September 8 Noon Press Release (Fourmile Canyon Fire Wildfire)

Community meeting: Tonight 7:30 P.M. at CU Coors Events CenterPark in Lot 418, 440 or 436 The Four Mile Canyon Fire experienced growth on all sides of the fire yesterday due to winds and terrain. Evacuations remain in place. Fire managers understand people's need to get back to their homes as soon as it is safe, and appreciate patience until then. Evacuees will be allowed back only when it is safe. The Sheriff's Office continues to lead efforts to assess damage to homes. A Rocky Mountain Type II Incident Management Team assumed responsibility for managing the fire last night at 6 P.M. The team is in place to assist Boulder County, Colorado State Forest Service and partner agencies. Yesterday many local firefighters were released to get much-needed rest; replacement firefighters continue to arrive.
